Nosocomial Infections & Control

Nosocomial infections can be controlled by rehearsing infection control programs, keep check on antimicrobial use and its resistance, espousing antibiotic control policy. Effective surveillance system can play its part at public and transnational position. Measures of infection control include relating cases at threat of nosocomial infections, observing hand hygiene, following standard preventives to reduce transmission and strategies to reduce VAP, CR-BSI, CAUTI. Environmental factors and architectural lay out also need to be emphasized upon. Reducing the position of patient impunity; the adding variety of medical ways and invasive procedures creates potentially paths of infection, transmission of resistant to treatment bacteria, and poor infection control practices can promote infection among rehabilitated cases.
